...following on from feedback last night.
i realised after i sent my feedback last night, that i had accidentally ordered a pork, rather than vegetarian dish. i find the spicebox menu system a bit confusing to work out what is veggie and what is not. how about a vegetarian section on the menu?

| | When thai me up in edinburgh closed its doors, i was gutted as it was the best thai food i'd ever tasted (outside of thailand!) - needless to say i was delighted to find that the chefs and mgt from thai me up had taken over spicebox. i was worried that the menu wouldn't work as a 'take away' menu because of the attention to detail at thai me up but i couldn't have been more wrong - the food was fresh and delicious and came with an impressive butterly carved from a carrot! even the very homemade spring rolls endured the delivery to leith and arrived hot and crisp. i am so pleased that these guys are giving edinburgh another go as they do thai food like it's done in thailand. i am already thinking about what i am going to have next time... - sheri - 04DEC09 |
| | Having been disappointed too many times with take-away food in edinburgh we decided to have one more try. what a result!
ordered online, had a phone call a few minutes later (from a very helpful man) who warned us that they were busy and so the food may be a few minutes late.
food arrived with a free starter. the food not only was delicious, but was fresh and definitely had no msg (my wife's face didn't swell up like a balloon!) the spring rolls were amazing and the best we have tasted, everything was perfect.

we got called to say that it had left and was on its way
the food arrived within the 90 mins and we were not dissapointed.

| | I have lived in edinburgh for many years and without a doubt spicebox offers the best takeaway quality food in town! the food tastes lovely and fresh, and i love the fact that the sauces in which your food comes are very 'thin', in comparison with the thick gelatinous, tasteless sauces you usually get (and, i'm assuming, msg free?!) some people have complained about the time orders take to arrive. obviously, some complaints may be justified; however, in general i feel that the website/staff make you very aware from the start that this may be the case (particularly on busy weekend evenings), which i think is acceptable. and, as other customers have already pointed out, i for one am more than happy to wait that little bit longer for a better-tasing meal!
i will definately be ordering from here again and again.
